Description :
17-Bromoheptadecanoic acid is a macrocyclic brominated fatty acid that is synthesized from 17-bromohexadecanoic acid. The yield of the reaction from the synthesis of 17-bromohexadecanoic acid to 17-bromoheptadecanoic acid was minimised by using a macrocyclic reagent, which led to high activity. This product has been used as a reagent to produce radiopharmaceuticals. The parameters that affect the nucleophilicity of 17-bromoheptadecanoic acid include potassium carbonate and acetonitrile. It can be used in synthesis reactions with nucleophile compounds such as tosylates and amines.
