N4-Benzoyl-1-(2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro-β-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine has been shown to be an antiviral and anticancer agent. This compound has been modified with an aromatic benzoyl group at position 4 of the sugar moiety in order to block the interaction with the viral polymerase.
