2,2',3,5',6-Pentachlorobiphenyl-13C12 is a congener of the polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) that has been shown to cause neurodevelopmental toxicity. It binds to the cytosolic Ca2+ channels and causes neuronal death. 2,2',3,5',6-Pentachlorobiphenyl-13C12 is also a neurotoxicant that inhibits locomotor activity in mice. This compound alters synaptic transmission by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters from presynaptic neurons. 2,2',3,5',6-Pentachlorobiphenyl-13C12 also affects liver cells and causes necrotic cell death in vitro. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was used for quantification of 2,2',3,5',6-pentachlorobiphenyl-13C12 in mouse liver tissue samples
