Description :Cytarabine-5-b,Y-(1-hydroxyethylidene) triphosphate-d3 is a novel nucleotide analogue that is synthesized from the corresponding phosphoramidite. It has antiviral activity and can be used as an analog of cytosine arabinoside for the treatment of herpes zoster. Cytarabine-5-b,Y-(1-hydroxyethylidene) triphosphate-d3 has been shown to inhibit viral replication by interacting with DNA and RNA synthesis. This drug also inhibits DNA polymerase activity in vitro and blocks viral transcription. Cytarabine can be used in combination with other antiviral drugs such as acyclovir or ganciclovir.
