Alepterolic acid is a diterpene that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It also has antiviral properties and can be used as a medicine for liver disease. Alepterolic acid inhibits serine proteases, which are enzymes that regulate protein turnover, by binding to the active site and blocking its activity. This inhibition leads to a decrease in cell proliferation and migration, which can result in an inhibition of tumor growth. Alepterolic acid is also involved in mitochondrial membrane potential and efficient method for synthesizing amides.
