6-Methylpyridine-2-carboxamide is a nitrogenous compound that contains a metal ion. It has an amide group and a carboxylate group, which are both protonated at physiological pH. The compound is soluble in water and alcohols. 6-Methylpyridine-2-carboxamide can be used as an amplifier in the measurement of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) spectra and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra.
