Informations sur le produit
2-(2-Oxopropyl)benzaldehyde is a compound with the chemical formula CHO. It is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. 2-(2-Oxopropyl)benzaldehyde has been shown to undergo the Aldol condensation and form α,β-unsaturated esters when treated with an acid or base. The deprotonation of the enolate leads to the formation of an electrophilic carbonyl group, which can be protonated by ammonium ions to form an ammonium carbonyl intermediate. This intermediate then reacts with another molecule of 2-(2-oxopropyl)benzaldehyde to form the product.
