Description :
4-Hydroxythieno[2,3-b]pyridine-5-carbonitrile is a protein kinase inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of the protein kinase, thereby blocking it from phosphorylating other proteins. This inhibition prevents cell proliferation and differentiation. 4-Hydroxythieno[2,3-b]pyridine-5-carbonitrile has been shown to inhibit several types of kinases such as tyrosine, serine/threonine, and dual specificity tyrosine/serine/threonine. 4HTC has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of the tyrosine kinase c-Src in the growth of human prostate cancer cells.
