Description

2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroinosine is a nucleoside analog that is used in the treatment of cancer. It is localized in the nucleus and is stable in both neutral and acid conditions. 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroinosine inhibits the production of RNA by binding to the ribonucleotide reductase enzyme, which prevents DNA synthesis. The molecule has been shown to have anti-tumor activity by inhibiting protein synthesis and causing cell death. 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroinosine also has a protective effect on mammalian cells by inhibiting viral replication.
