1-Methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. The fluorescence properties of 1-methylindole allow it to be used as a fluorescent probe for nucleophilic attack on various compounds. It has been used as a reagent for investigating degenerative diseases such as mitochondrial dysfunction and acylation reactions.
