Description :Elacytarabine is a cytotoxic compound that exhibits minimal toxicity to normal cells. It has a hydrophobic effect and binds to intracellular targets, such as the fatty acid acyl chain of proteins. Elacytarabine is an analog of cytarabine and inhibits DNA synthesis by binding to the RNA polymerase II enzyme. It can also bind to epidermal growth factor receptor, which leads to apoptosis in cancer cells. Elacytarabine has been shown to be effective against solid tumours in rodents, with minimal toxicity profiles.
