Informations sur le produit
Salicyl-AMS is a synthetic molecule that inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids. It has been shown to inhibit the production of fatty acids in human pathogens, such as Salmonella enterica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The mechanism of action for this drug is unknown, but it may involve competitive inhibition of an enzyme involved in the synthesis of fatty acids or by binding to an allosteric site on the enzyme. Salicyl-AMS has been demonstrated to be clinically useful in treating infections caused by S. enterica and P. aeruginosa. This drug is also used as a model system for studying the biochemical mechanisms of bacterial growth and survival under conditions where iron is limiting.
