• Description: 2'-O-(2-Methoxyethyl)adenosine is a nucleoside derivative that is produced by the methylation of 2'-deoxyadenosine. It is used in organic synthesis as a reagent for the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons and as an intermediate in the synthesis of purines. The product can be isolated with yields of 78% or greater, depending on reaction conditions and purification methods. Isomeric purity can be achieved with high purity (>99%) by recrystallization from water or ethanol. The compound has a number of physical properties that are similar to those of adenosine, including boiling point, melting point, density, and refractive index.
