Informations sur le produit
5-(2-Chloro-4-fluoro-phenoxymethyl)-furan-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (5FC) is a nitro compound that has been investigated for its potential use as a pharmaceutical agent. 5FC inhibits the production of inflammatory substances, such as prostaglandins, and also inhibits the production of insulin in the pancreas. This drug also has an inhibitory effect on microbial infection and cancer cells. It inhibits thrombin by competitively binding to the active site of thrombin, preventing it from converting fibrinogen into fibrin, which is required for blood clotting. 5FC also binds to specific sites on divalent metal ions and prevents them from binding to DNA.
