Description

2',3',5'-Tri-O-benzoyl-2'-C-methylcytidine is a modified nucleoside. The cytidine moiety in this compound has been replaced by 2'-C-methylcytidine. This modification results in the loss of the 3' to 5' exocyclic methylene group and an increase in the lipophilicity of the molecule. 2',3',5'-Tri-O-benzoyl-2'-C-methylcytidine is known to be an activator, which stimulates ribonucleotide reductase activity. It also has antiviral and anticancer properties, as well as other novel applications such as its use as a monophosphate and phosphoramidite precursor in DNA synthesis.
