Description

Ginsenoside Rb2 is a glycosylated saponin that can be found in the root of notoginseng. It has been shown to have protective effects against coronary heart disease and is effective in reducing high blood pressure. Ginsenoside Rb2 has also been shown to inhibit the growth factor-β1 response element and reduce the expression of p-glycoprotein, which is an important transporter protein for drug resistance. Ginsenoside Rb2 has also been shown to have antioxidant properties by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and increasing levels of vitamin C. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginsenoside Rb2 may be due to its ability to inhibit lipopolysaccharides (LPS)-induced inflammatory responses by decreasing nitric oxide production.
