Phloretin-3-hydroxy-2'-O-glucoside is a natural product that is structurally related to the anthocyanidins, which are pigments found in plants. It has been identified as a potential anti-cancer agent by inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and inducing apoptosis. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the production of nitric oxide by macrophages, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. Phloretin-3-hydroxy-2'-O-glucoside was isolated from leaves of the plant Phlox subulata. The purity of this compound is high, with an HPLC purity >99%.
