Siamenoside I is a natural compound that belongs to the class of flavonol glycosides. It has been shown to have an hypoglycemic effect in rats, which may be due to its ability to activate the AMPK pathway. Siamenoside I has also been shown to induce apoptosis in human leukemia cells and inhibit tumor cell proliferation. This active form was found in a reaction solution with matrix effect on tissue culture and eluting from ganoderma lucidum by chemical structures. Siamenoside I is chemically related to other compounds found in G. lucidum such as polysaccharides, fatty acids, and terpenoids that are known for their anti-inflammatory activities.
