Description

Verbascoside is a natural compound that has been shown to have synergistic effects with other drugs in the treatment of cancer. Verbascoside inhibits the proliferation of HL-60 cells and suppresses cyclin D2, which is involved in cell cycle progression. Verbascoside also has inhibitory properties against the enzyme responsible for synthesizing DNA, RNA, and proteins. It has been shown to increase the rate constant for DNA polymerase, thereby increasing the synthesis of DNA and protein. This drug also inhibits postprandial blood glucose levels by reducing glucagon release from pancreatic α-cells.
