Informations sur le produit
- Indene-3-carboxylic acid
1H-Indene-3-carboxylic acid (1HICA) is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro. 1HICA is a molecule that can be found in the natural product xylene, which is used as a solvent and in the production of polymers. It has been investigated for use as an anticancer agent because it blocks the activity of hydroxyl ions, which are necessary for tumor cell proliferation. The compound also inhibits tumor growth by binding to DNA and inhibiting the synthesis of proteins, which are necessary for cancer cell division. In addition, 1HICA inhibits dimethyl fumarate (DMF), an enzyme that is involved in the production of lipids and fatty acids. This inhibition may lead to cancer therapy as DMF also promotes tumor cell proliferation. 1HICA was determined to have no effect on human cells and was not toxic at concentrations up to 150 micromolar.
