• Description: 2-Butyl-2-adamantanol is a methylated derivative of 2-adamantanol. The methyl group increases the conformational possibilities of the molecule, which may be due to the increased number of hydrogens that can form hydrogen bonds. 2-Butyl-2-adamantanol has been shown to exist in two different conformations and is in equilibrium between these conformations. The equilibrium constant, K, for this reaction is calculated to be 0.4.
