Informations sur le produit
3-Ethoxypyridine is a synthetically produced compound that has been shown to have inhibitory activity against the enzyme carbonyl reductase. 3-Ethoxypyridine is synthesized from piperazine and diacetamide through a nucleophilic attack of the anion on the pyridine ring. This reaction product then reacts with a methyl group to form an acetamide, which is then hydrolyzed by carboxypeptidase to form 3-ethoxypyridine. 3-Ethoxypyridine inhibits the metabolic pathway of carbonyl reductase, which leads to cell death. It has also been shown that 3-ethoxypyridine inhibits other enzymes in the same metabolic pathway as carbonyl reductase, such as alcohol dehydrogenase.
