- Naphthalene-1-Carboximidamide
Naphthalene-1-carboximidamide is a potent inhibitor of urokinase, an enzyme that promotes tumor cell growth and metastasis. It binds to the active site of the enzyme and blocks its proteolytic activity. The compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of tumor cell growth in culture. Naphthalene-1-carboximidamide also displays anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. This drug also has pharmacokinetic properties that make it useful for diagnosing cancer cells in the blood stream, as well as for inhibiting cancer cells from growing.
