Description :
4'-Methyl-4-pentylbiphenyl is a piperidine derivative that is used in the industrialization of polymers. It also has low toxicity and is an effective diazotizing agent. 4'-Methyl-4-pentylbiphenyl can be synthesized from the reaction of benzene and acetic acid. This process involves Friedel-Crafts acylation, which is a chemical reaction between an acyl chloride and an aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst.
