Description

2,7,12,17-Tetra-tert-butyl-5,10,15,20-tetraaza-21H,23H-porphine is a polyester that has been immobilized on a substrate. This material has high optical properties and can be used for the detection of chloride ions. The immobilization process was done by crosslinking the polymer with chloroform. Diffraction experiments were carried out to study the morphology of this material. The 2D diffraction pattern shows that the polymer chains are aligned in parallel orientation and that there is no disorder in the structure. Fluorescence spectroscopy experiments show that this material is an acceptor and its emission peak is at 550 nm. Activation energies have been determined by measuring the wavelength of fluorescence emission at different temperatures and extrapolating to zero temperature.
