3-Amino-5-nitrobenzeneboronic acid is a boron compound that is structurally related to epigallocatechin (EGC). 3-Amino-5-nitrobenzeneboronic acid has been shown to be stable in a variety of tests, including stability under acidic and basic conditions, as well as gelation. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. 3-Amino-5-nitrobenzeneboronic acid is linked to an EGC molecule by a crosslinker and this linkage results in long term stability. The molecule's structure also makes it a good candidate for anticancer activity because it can inhibit the enzyme protein kinase C, which may be responsible for the development of cancer.
