Description

Antimicrobial peptide consisting of disulfide bonds between Cys2-Cys30, Cys4-Cys19, and Cys9-Cys29. Alpha-defensin-4 is a small, cationic peptide that is part of the alpha-defensin family of antimicrobial peptides in humans. It is primarily produced by neutrophils, which are a type of white blood cell that plays a critical role in the immune response to bacterial infections.
Alpha-defensin-4 is known to have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against a wide range of bacterial pathogens, including both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
