Description :
Zirconium oxide-yttria (ZrO2-Y2O3) is a nanometric particle that exhibits anti-cancer activity. ZrO2-Y2O3 induces apoptosis in brain tumor cells by inhibiting the uptake of proton and the tyrosine kinase pathway. It has been shown to be effective against epithelial tumors, including glioma and breast cancer. This compound also inhibits the epidermal growth factor receptor, which is responsible for cell proliferation in mammals.
