(2S)-1-(2-Aminoacetyl)pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile is a synthetic small molecule that inhibits the activity of serine proteases. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of these enzymes in vitro, and it blocks the release of fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which is involved in inflammatory responses. This drug also exhibits an oral bioavailability of about 54%. In addition, (2S)-1-(2-Aminoacetyl)pyrrolidine-2-carbonitrile has shown pharmacokinetic properties including a half-life of around 43 hours.
