Informations sur le produit
Methyl 2-chloro-5-cyanobenzoate is a fungicide that is used in agriculture to control the spread of sclerotinia, which affects plants and other organisms. It inhibits the growth of sclerotinia by inhibiting the production of ergosterol and other sterols (e.g., cholesterol) in the cell membrane. Methyl 2-chloro-5-cyanobenzoate is also active against mosquito larvae, which are susceptible to hydrogen cyanide. This agent has been shown to be effective in a bioassay using magnetic cuprous cyanide and benzamide as a detector for hydrogen cyanide release. The inhibition rate in this assay was found to be close to 100%. Methyl 2-chloro-5-cyanobenzoate can also produce bipyridine and hydroxylamine derivatives, which are more effective than methyl 2-chloro-5-cyanobenzoate itself. This
