NOP3 is an activator of RNA polymerase II and is involved in the regulation of ribosomal RNA transcription. The ligand for NOP3 has been identified as a peptide corresponding to the C-terminal domain of the protein. NOP3 also interacts with Ion channels and may be involved in the regulation of ion channel activity, including voltage-gated potassium channels.
