Description :Prosaposin is a human, recombinant secretory protein that is produced by the freeze-drying of a lysosomal extract. It is used to treat cerebrospinal fluid that has been depleted of prosaposin. This protein functions as a linker and interacts with choline, glycosphingolipids, and phospholipids to form the myelin sheath in the central nervous system. Prosaposin can also be reconstituted with deionized water and aliquots containing 1 mg/mL of this protein are available for purchase.
