Description

Epi-eudesmol is a natural compound that is found in the essential oil of Eudesma, a genus of flowering plants in the family Rutaceae. It has been detected by mass spectrometric detection as an oxygenated fatty acid with a molecular weight of 294.3 Da and a relative abundance of 1%. Epi-eudesmol has been found to have antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Epi-eudesmol can be identified by chemical analyses, such as gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. This compound can be extracted from the plant using dry weight and geranyl acetate as solvents.
