Description :
Z-Val-Tyr methyl ester is a tripeptide that is found in nature. It is the product of an enzymatic reaction between L-valine, DOPA, and L-tyrosine. Z-Val-Tyr methyl ester has been shown to have anti-leishmanial activity against Leishmania major, with no detectable toxicity to mammalian cells. The mechanism of action is not well understood but may be related to its hydrophobic properties.
