Description

Dodecyltriphenylphosphanium bromide is a hydrophobic compound that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to have a thermal expansion of 5.5 x 10-6 K-1 and a bowel disease inhibitory effect. Dodecyltriphenylphosphanium bromide inhibits the growth of bacteria by causing mitochondrial membrane depolarization, which leads to the inhibition of fatty acid synthesis and the disruption of metabolic rate. This compound also has natural compounds such as polyunsaturated fatty acids and is synthesized by biological samples such as wild-type strains. Dodecyltriphenylphosphanium bromide can be used in titration calorimetry experiments to determine its concentration.
