- 2,2'-Disulfanediyldipyrimidine
Dipyrimidin-2-yl disulfide is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of dipyrimidines. It is used in organic synthesis as a reagent for cross-coupling reactions between aryl boronic acids and chlorides, halides, or sulfonates. Dipyrimidin-2-yl disulfide reacts with chlorine and boronic acids to form dichlorobipyrimidine. This reaction has been shown to be faster than the corresponding reaction with difluoride. Dipyrimidin-2-yl disulfide can also be used as a precursor in the synthesis of other dipyrimidines by substituting an amine for chloride.
