Granilin is a natural compound that is an isomeric form of Iridomyrmecin. It has been shown to have potent cytotoxicity against cancer cells and has been investigated as a potential anticancer drug. Granilin was also found to be effective in the treatment of acne vulgaris, with a potency similar to that of erythromycin. It was found to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis, which can cause biofilm formation on medical devices and other surfaces.
