Insolution rac1 inhibitor II, Z62954982 has been shown to enhance insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in cultured cardiomyocytes and inhibit myocardial infarct size in mice following coronary artery ligation. The mechanism of Insolution rac1 inhibitor II, Z62954982 action may be due to its ability to block cardiac adenosine receptors and inhibit the uptake of glucose by blocking the cell surface receptor for insulin. Insolution rac1 inhibitor II, Z62954982 also blocks the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β. Insolution rac1 inhibitor II, Z62954982 is orally bioavailable and does not require intravenous administration.
