Description

Resorufin-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a compound that is commonly used in research and diagnostic applications. It is a substrate for beta-galactosidase, an enzyme that cleaves the glycosidic bond between galactose and other functional groups. This cleavage produces resorufin, which is highly fluorescent and can be easily detected. Resorufin-beta-D-galactopyranoside has been used to study the activity of beta-galactosidase in human tissues, as well as in bovine serum and other biological samples.
