Description :
Hexyl Methanesulfonate is a vinylene compound with the chemical formula CH3SO2CH=CH2. It is an organic acid that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. Hexyl Methanesulfonate reacts with other compounds to form esters, amides, and thioesters. This reaction system has been used for the preparation of some anticancer drugs, such as tamoxifen and erythromycin. The reaction time varies depending on the type of reactants involved. Hexyl Methanesulfonate can be prepared from calcium stearate and nitrogen gas under acidic conditions. Hexyl Methanesulfonate may also be used to treat cancer by targeting adrenergic receptors or cancer cells in situ.
