Description :
3,4-Diethylpyrrole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to form micelles in water. It is also a surfactant and can be used as an electrolyte. 3,4-Diethylpyrrole has been synthesized by the electrochemical oxidation of a pyrrole precursor with trifluoroacetic acid and metal ion (e.g., zinc) as the electron donor. 3,4-Diethylpyrrole has also been shown to have prebiotic properties due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with other compounds. This compound can also be oxidized into some oxidation products such as phenols, ketones, and quinones which may have pharmacological effects on cells.
