Description :
Dimethyl 2-aminopentanedioate is an impurity of paclitaxel and docetaxel. It is a precursor for the synthesis of polymeric amides which are used in the treatment of cancer. Dimethyl 2-aminopentanedioate is also a precursor for the synthesis of piperonal, which is used as an intermediate in the production of fragrances. The use of dimethyl 2-aminopentanedioate has been shown to produce high yields with minimal side reactions when used as an oxidant in organic reactions.
