4-Oxocyclohexyl acetate is a synthetic, nonaromatic compound that has antibacterial activity. It is synthesized by the dehydration of acetobromoglucose with hydroxyl group and stereostructure. 4-Oxocyclohexyl acetate can be prepared by alkaline hydrolysis of carbonyl compounds and hemiketals. It can also be synthesized from the reaction between an aromatic compound and an aliphatic alcohol. The structure of 4-oxocyclohexyl acetate is similar to that of natural products such as cyclopentenone, cyclopentanol, and cyclopentanone.
