Description

3-Acetylbenzo[b]furan is a potent inhibitor of lipase and other enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of acetaldehyde to acetic acid. 3-Acetylbenzo[b]furan also inhibits chemoenzymatic reactions and has a potent inhibitory activity against asymmetric synthesis. This compound has been shown to be useful for the production of chiral compounds with high selectivities. 3-Acetylbenzo[b]furan can be used as a ligand and isomeric in various fluorescent assays.
