Description :
6-Bromonaphthalene-2-carbonitrile is a diazo compound that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It has been postulated to be a disubstitution product of 2,6-dinitrobenzene, although this cannot be confirmed by synthesis. This compound can be synthesized from the reaction of 1,8-Diazobicyclo[5,4,0]undec-7-ene and 6-bromonicotinic acid. Photostimulation of this compound yields a mixture of products with different structures.
