It has structural properties similar to sildenafil, which is a phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor and analogues of sildenafil. The chemical structure of o-desmethyl-o-propyl methisosildenafil-d4 includes a phenyl ring, an o-desethyl group, and propoxy group. The compound was synthesized by reacting 4-(2'-hydroxypropanoyl)benzoyl chloride with 2-(3'-chloropropoxy)-1,3-dimethoxybenzene in the presence of triethylamine.
