2-(4-((4-((5-Cyclopropyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)amino)-6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl)amino)phenyl)acetonitrile is a test compound that inhibits bacterial RNA polymerase. This inhibition prevents transcription and replication, thereby preventing bacterial growth. 2-(4-((4-((5-Cyclopropyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)amino)-6--methylpyrimidin--2--yl)amino)phenyl)acetonitrile has been shown to be effective in retinitis pigmentosa and diabetes. It also has the potential to treat autoimmune diseases such as inflammatory diseases and neurodegenerative diseases.
