Laxiracemosin H is a natural product that belongs to the class of laxatives. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells, with an IC50 of 1.5 μM. Laxiracemosin H may be active against cancer cells due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division. Laxiracemosin H was also found to crystallize in form I, which is consistent with the molecular modeling studies. The compound has been characterized by spectroscopic methods, including FT-IR and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy as well as X-ray powder diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. These methods showed that laxiracemosin H exhibits a significant amount of intermolecular hydrogen bonding and dichroism.
