• Description: 2-Methoxyethyl p-toluenesulfonate is a chiral homochiral monomer that has been synthesised from ethyl bromoacetate. It has the functional groups of a chelate ring and an ester group. The antioxidant potency of this compound has been shown to be greater than that of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and octyl gallate (OG). 2-Methoxyethyl p-toluenesulfonate is soluble in water, which aids its transport properties. Its nmr spectra have revealed that it is an organic molecule with six hydrogen atoms, one oxygen atom, and two sulfur atoms. The biomolecular structural analysis showed that this compound is composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur atoms. 2-Methoxyethyl p-toluenesulfonate was also shown to have antiviral activity in vivo models against HIV and influenza A virus infections.
