Description

Zinniol is a natural compound that is found in the seeds of Carthamus tinctorius. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the formation of reactive oxygen species. Zinniol also has the ability to inhibit dehydroascorbate reductase, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of ascorbic acid. This inhibition leads to depletion of ascorbic acid levels and oxidative stress in plants. Zinniol has also been shown to have herbicidal activity against Solanum tuberosum and other plant species, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis.

Zinniol is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and herbicidal activities that inhibits dehydroascorbate reductase and fatty acid synthesis in plants.
